Borussia Dortmund and Bayer 04 Leverkusen won against FC Bayern Munich. What is currently unimaginable in the Bundesliga (German national league) becomes reality in the Public Value Atlas 2015. Here, too, FC Bayern (Bavaria) is the most polarizing of all clubs. While the club has the best achievements in terms of its core business, the evaluation of its propriety and morality penalizes it. Not only does this show the respondents’ differing view of its public value contribution, but also that the public value compatibility is classified as significant with regard to national football league clubs as well. Closely behind FC Bayern in the evaluation follow Werder Bremen, Schalke 04, and, at a greater distance, HSV. In fact, football clubs ― like companies, public authorities, and associations, ― make a public value contribution and, consequently, an important contribution towards social cohesion in Germany.
